we need a G4 male pony buck (that isn't quite as beefy as Shining Armor) to make Soarin.

Shrugs. I do just fine with the fillys->stallions. I mean yeah thats also why Shining became Big Mac during my customization

Shining is a nice buck and all and it totally works for Big Mac, but he's really beefy compared to the average Pony. There are 4 different female bucks for each pony type (child, normal, small allicorn, large allicorn) and in addition they have unicorn, pegasus, and earth types for each buck, but so far if you want a dude you would need to get either a minifigure or a vinyl. Compare it to transformers, imagine if you had to pick between a legends class or voyager class figure for Bumblebee and there was no deluxe toy. Besides, the body doesn't need to be different, a male pony can be made by changing the face a little to have a slightly more sloped forehead, it seems like such a minor change but they don't do it!
