Description I thought you might like to see the shell garden I made a few years ago. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved to collect shells. I would come home with them in my pockets, in bags, I had them every where For years they just lay round, I didn't know what to do with them. Then after being on holiday to Jersey, I visited a beautiful garden a wonderful old man had made, and I then knew how to use my shells. When I got home, I wrote to the Colin and told him how much his garden had inspired me, and how I planned on doing something similar, but on a smaller scale. He was so nice and wrote back, and sent me a wonderful box of shells to help me, a gift from him. All this was years ago, before I had a computer. I haven't heard from Colin in years, I don't even know if he is still alive, I do hope so. So this picture is dedicated to Colin a wonderful man who was a true artist and a very kind man

Interesting story, Ive never seen anything like this. Kudos to a new idea and the use of nature as an art. The only thing that bugs me is that in the top left hand corner of the picture, a large shell is missing in the top line. Lol

Yes I only noticed that after I took the photo. Sometimes a shell falls off, mainly due to frost in the winter. I will have to go stick it back on

I had decided on the design before I actually started, and laid the shells down flat on the ground in front of the wall, so as to see if the pattern would work. I then put plaster on the wall and started to stick on the shells into the wet cement. But the day I was making it, was so hot the plaster was drying faster as I could stick them on, so I had to get Dad to come put on the plaster while I stuck shells as fast as I could go
