(I know it kinda looks like Six and Seven were kissing for a second but that wasn't my intention...
they were whispering and exchanging thank yous before departing.
Six thanked him for the bread and for warning her to stay quiet in the prison. And Seven thanked her for wishing him well, and being a light of hope for the children in the Maw.)

(Amaaaazziiinnngggg job though! I always think to myself, "I wanna animate!" and literally NEVER get past, like, the very first few drawings --if even that! How do you do it??? *Motivate yourself to animate, that is* Did this take very long to draw, as well as color?)

actually, most of my animations I ended up winging it actually...I didn't really know how to properly animate in 2D.
I took a principles of animation class recently, and its really helped me!
Pose to pose animation is very important and can help you a lot. Draw key poses of the characters! So like, six and seven together. Then Six dropping down from her heels, then maybe two poses of her running off.
And then you step back and look what you have so far. All you have to do now is fill in the blanks! So you can visualize two poses and connect them together with an added inbetween.
and I just line draw all the frames, and I just use the fill bucket for color. (if this was shaded, I would suffer even more so!)
but honestly its heavy determination. Taking breaks is important though, I burn myself out and I actually still have quite a few animations I have abandoned or put in my unfinished folder...which I may not get back to for years!
But this 5 to 7 second animation was quick. I just did the backgrounds, and roughly it was around 20 or 30 drawings. I'm able to draw very fast, so something like this comes easier to me than it does others.
But sometimes I get inspired and I just have this heavy inspiration to animate, and I sit down and do it! You could try a little bit each day. Even if you do just 1 drawing a day, thats better progress than no drawings a day!
Experiment with yourself, see what works best.
And if 2D animation is too much work, try 3D! That can be difficult to wrap your head around, but 3D animation is truly playing with puppets. The computer fills in all the rest of the animation for you once you put in the key poses.
But this animation really only took me a day or two.

when it comes down to it, I just make the backgrounds really detailed....and the rest of the animation is surprisingly very minimal compared to other projects I've tackled.
But I think you should study 2D animation more. Once you wrap your head around the basic principles of animation, you'll understand how to take short cuts and how to make your stuff look great without over doing it!!
