And that Japanese kanji on the left side of her jacket, I'm taking a wild guess that's the kanji for Bad, Evil, or Darkness. which in the Japanese language translates as Aku.
I know this because Mako explained what Aku means in Japanese in a featurette a while back before his passing. And I've seen this symbol before on that anime back when Toonami was on CArtoon Network during the weekdays instead of Saturday night. The said anime was called Rurouni Kenshin, in which one of the main characters named Sanuske, I think I spelled it right, has this exact symbol stitched on the back of his gi shirt.
