Ugh, my scanner always washes things out, no matter how much I fiddle with the options.I thought I might like to do a more complex picture of Kiera. That's Dominique in the back, in his freakish undead lion shape.

when u draw a picture ryt, say for example of the forest griffin, u did that in pencil first ryt? Then did u go ahead and colour over it or did u do sumthing else to it first? like ink it in or scan it and change it using PS. Coz im more of a cartoon artist and my art ends with lineart. But i want learn to paint and ur water colour deviations are out of this world! so im trying to get some tips by well...pretty much studying ur artwork.

.5 and some .7 I'm not sure what the lead is. Just the regular old lead that you buy in walmart XD they weren't artists pencils.

I'm impressed how artists such as yourself manage to make such fine art without some art tools. I guess I'm paying to much atention to the material and less to the drawing itself.
Have you used a 0,3 mech. pencil or a 0,05 ink pen in any drawing?
How do you maintain such a precise line? Any special technique?

XD It's true that some of the greatest artists could probably make fine art with dirt and water! Tools certainly don't count against hours and hours of practice. But I can pass on all the info I've got.
I have never used a .3 mech pencil (but I really want one!), but I have used some fine pens. I've got a set of microns I ocassionally ink with. I am terrible at it still, though XD
I suppose I've gotten good with the precise line because I've drawn so much cartoony stuff. In one way, I feel like it's ruined me as an artist, but I suppose I did acrew some useful skills through it. What I do is start with a very light gestural drawing. When I'm sure I know where I want everything, I go in and fine line it, kind of like inking with a pencil. The light lines get washed out when I tone, or I erase them here and there. sometimes I use a non-photo blue pencil to do my gesture, but on this one it's all regular pencil.
