Maybe this question is stupid, maybe you've answered it before; How did you make the background?

For that one, I put down some plastic wrap on a piece of paper and squirted ink underneath it. Once it was mostly dry, I removed the wrap and those weird sort of planar patterns were left behind.

When I saw the thumb I thought "wow I love hibbary's fantasy creatures they're always so creative. this one looks like a winged fox" I had to laugh when I saw the title of the deviation a few seconds later
I really like this one - the feathers look good and the green and purple are rare color matches but it looks good!
