Logan Ayres

Age: 29 (Born on 19 Feb 1985)

Ancestry: He is half English and half Greek. He was born in London, then he and his family moved to the US when he was 12.

Personality: He is cautious, clever, calm, and rather shy. His personality has somewhat changed since Logan and Jeff the killer first met. After that, the darker side of his personality grew stronger; sarcastic, self-centered, and revengeful.

His ability and ‘ghosts’: He possesses a paranormal ability to see others’ hallucinations, fantasies, or whatever someone strongly believes in— and in most cases, those visions are creepy or even terrifying. So he simply calls them ‘ghosts.’ For that reason, the word ‘ghost’ here has a little different connotation.

‘The case’: He was once a homicide detective. He wouldn’t utilize his ability for solving cases as he didn’t anyone thinking that he was different from others.

Logan first met Jeff 2 years ago. As he was investigating serial murders occurred in his city, he noticed some witnesses gave odd evidence; they claimed they had seen ‘Jeff the killer.’ He wondered if Jeff the killer, who he didn’t think really existed, was able to kill anyone. He began to think Jeff was a ghost and was somehow incarnated, though he had never known such a case. If so, he thought, he was the only person who could solve the case, as he knew how to deal with ghosts better than his co-workers. This idea gave him an excuse for using his ability without hesitation; concealing it had been stressful for him. As he lost himself deeper in the case, he felt the boundary between ghosts and real persons began to blur. When he finally met Jeff, he was on the verge of going insane. Jeff slashed his neck, but failed to kill him. In a hospital, he found a scar on the left side of his neck. He was fully convinced that ghosts could be ‘real.’ After being released from the hospital, he disappeared from his town, without submitting his resignation or anything.

Since then, he has been hunting killers. But as he is now half insane, he often kill innocents, believing that they are ghosts. For him, killing ghosts (at least he thinks so) is purely motivated by a sense of justice.

Red scarf: He wears a long, red scarf so that he can hide his scar. He wears it even in summer.

Knife: He usually use a knife to kill ghosts. He snatched it from Jeff when they first fought.

Relationships:

Jeff the killer – Because of the case, which has changed his life, Logan obsessively hounds Jeff. Jeff, though, may forget about him.

Likes: Spider-man, Somerset Maugham, Vol de Nuit (Perfume), 98% cocoa stevia chocolate bar, mystery novels, spiders, snakes

Dislikes: Superman, sweet things, horror films
