I realized it was ages ago that I went and actually painted/rendered something like this...I took an alien sketch (lineart) that I did a while back in a paintchat and fleshed it out in Photoshop for practicing - 'twas fun!
I approached this by coloring a greyscale render this time. Been a while since I did that, too

beim ausrendern muss man immer aufpassen dass die highlights unterschiedlich stark gesetzt werden, man neigt dazu alle gleich stark zu colon. dadurch verzerrt sich die perspo, wie hier zb, der brustpanzer ist auf gleicher hΓΆhe wie die schulter und killt dadurch die tiefe im pic. mit dem gleichen prob hab ich jahre gekΓ€mpft bis ich endlich rausgefunden hab worans lag, es gibt einfach verschiedene highlight-ebenen
