Description
Here is another one that I did for the EOW 100.Howling Forest from Neverending Story.
It's refreshing to try new things and go a little more organic!
But it's pretty hard to maintain proper microcomposition I feel... :/

Interesting... I did a drawing of this myself (though it must be said, with far less success). Just a suggestion: take it and flip it horizontally. It looks really weird flipped, which means that you must be very right-handed. The best paintings still look realistic even after being flipped, as you would see in an actual photograph. I think if you can master that type of balance, your art will excel. 5 out of 5, definitely.[link]

Such a dark, shadowy forest. But in it is stunning beauty.
Aside from the trees themselves, I also like the way the lighting was done. The mild sunlight that penetrates the forest's canopy and into the ground gives the viewers a mild sense of calmness. And seeing that there are living creatures in this seemingly dead forest adds to this sense of relief as well.

when i first saw this as a thumbnail i thought it was a Legend of Zelda piece, and since i don't know The Neverending Story, it still kind of seems like a Zelda setting, either way great work man...on a side note, i'm just wondering about the character symbols on the bottom right corner in the border....i know another artist that uses a similar type of signature, was wondering if maybe you guys know each other..

Haha, I spot the rabbit! Overall, I think this is a good forest scene. Imho I think the mid-ground is slightly bright-lit. It could bring the forest another layer of depth and mystery.

Whoa, awesome forest, I couldn't draw one to save my life, unless I had a bunch of time.
For me the hardest part is to know when to make the trees fadeout....I usually keep on drawing trees until the whole thing turns into a big mess that makes no sense at all.
Btw, I have to say that the glowing thing totally made me think this was a Zelda drawing....actually, I think that there's a somewhat similar forest in Twilight Princess....hmmm...

that is an issue not only restricted to painting trees. It's aerial atmosphere or haze and prominent in every landscape painting that needs depth.
And fairies are everywhere, not just in Zelda
