well I´m not totally in for Spock/Bones either, but sometimes behaving like a long married couple A guardian...well that would descripe him very good. He is always there and helps his friends with advice or deed

I wish I was on the enterprise so that I could claim that the ship was mine and flirt with the sexy doctor >///< Then he wouldn't need to be jealous. But I think he just doesn't want Spock to end up hurting Kirk with his pysical strength or his cold emotionless-ness moments. He's only protecting his friend!
