A pair of muffled thuds kicked up dust in the arena, drowned out by thousands of fans belting out a cacophanous roar of cheers and jeers. Kyra warily eyed her Absol opponent. Ash had been champion for years, with a near-spotless record to her name. But she'd also gotten soft - softer. As Ash settled into a wide stance her belly swayed deep, her arms jiggled languidly. A sumo wrestler was supposed to have *some* heft, but this was ridiculous.

Ash looked up and gave a friendly smile. Kyra sneered and slammed a fist into the ground, leaning over and sticking her wobbling butt up in the air. A fresh waves of cheers and whistles rolled through the stands behind her; she awaited her opponent.

In contrast the Absol's movements were unhurried. Was the simple act of bending over to touch the ground with her fist a challenge for the engorged wrestler? Once she was leaned far enough over her hanging stomach pulled her down the rest of the way, hand thumping on the ground. Kyra lunged, ready to make the most of it, but found herself hitting the softest brick wall she'd ever encountered. All her force and push only served to help the Absol right herself back up, give a fresh smile to the Houndoom, adjust her arm stance, and --

A BOOM echoed througout the arena, and the crowd went wild. Kyra shook off the stars, only to find herself flat on the ground. Defeated. The infuriating (victorious) mound of flab loomed above her... gave a friendly smile, and reached out a hand. Kyra paused, drank in the cheering crowd, her loss... and then sighed, and grasped the fat mitt of a hand.

A dozen times more, and it smarted no less. A dull THUM throughout the empty dojo, and her back was once again on the mat. She gave a sheepish grin to the pile of rolls in front of her. Ash gave her the same smile as always - no judgment there - and easily hefted her back onto her feet.

"Good try! Remember though, it's just as much about redirecting force as it is directing it! How about next we try the..."

With thanks to the usual anonymous ghost writer for offering some suggestions, particularly as my initial draft was going a little too artsy with the time skip.

Got a request for some pokemon sumo, specifically Absol and Houndoom. While the request was for a larger size, getting a duo interacting like this gets a lot harder the larger they get, especially if you want any real action in the poses, so I settled for this size. First go at it I only realized partway into refining that the artist mix was... not good, and it didn't look good, so went back to the drawing board for something a little cuter in style.

The raw was generated without any LoRAs, and without the regional prompting tool since that actually gave me worse results. I then went in via inpainting and applied a LoRA to each side; thankfully the absol and houndoom LoRAs don't feature a massive stylistic difference and so work together well enough.
