AMFAR - All My Friends Are Robots

She’s like Tomoko Kuroki from “My Fault That I’m Not Popular!” in terms of concept, but if Tomoko was able to build a military grade robot with machine guns, axes, flamethrowers and whatever else she could find in her bedroom like some sort of A-Team building montage with Macgyver also helping for back up or something. Kinda like Gaige the Mechromancer from Borderlands 2. Maybe a bit more English (less American than Gaige) and foul mouthed too (…about equal) and has a bit of a sweet tooth (Pretty sure Gaige has a sweet tooth to) and didn't lose her arm in a unfortunate yet on purpose robot building accident.

Yeah, sure. Karin White might look all harmless and innocent in the outside, and look's rather nerdy with her signature glasses. But she is really someone who has a short temper, a very foul mouth and a distrust for society and would rather work alone and often be by herself. A very indoors person who has a limited circle of friends, keeping herself to herself, spending her time on computers talking about geeky nerdy stuff with strangers who she trusts more than people she has met in person (aside from the circle of friends she has) or in the garage designing and building her next greatest creation. For someone so young, she is set to become very well known in the robotics world, although her family disapprove of her path, she continues on with what she wants to do. Going as far as moving out at a young age of 15 and being self-independent.

Although, as much as she wants to keep herself to herself, she has become somewhat of a legend in the show “Robot Warlords”. After annihilating the 3 year reigning champions of the show, “Blackwatch” in a massively shocking upset during the early stages of the 4th season, all by herself, in her first season. This young, nerdy harmless looking girl of 13 years old, defeating a full team of engineers, funded by one of the corporations of America, all by herself because she was able to point out a major flaw that everyone overlooked. Proving they aren’t invisible like what everyone previously thought. She has been a consistent pain in the ass for Blackwatch just by being there, and is in some sense a mentor to some contestants. She has the potential to eventually win the championship one day but as of right now, she has only been able to reach the quarter finals reliably before getting taken out. She is a completely different person when she's in the show, if she could live in the studio, She would jump to that opportunity without any doubt.

Being able to beat the favourites in a shock upset is bound to get you a fan base overnight, as Karin soon found out, experiencing both the good and the bad about sudden fame. Gaining herself a faithful fan base, offers to join teams and sponsorship’s which she often denied and a crazed stalker who just refuses to leave her alone. Blackwatch only hates her for ruining their day.

This year (2014, her third season) she reached the Semi-Finals and was on track with reaching the finals for the first time, encountering Blacklight again in true rival fashion. What was supposed to be an easily convincing win for her to everyone ended up being a controversial and shocking loss for her and everyone. Karin gave up on chasing the decision from the judges, even though everyone was up in arms over it. Wanting to give them a chance to get back their formal glory before she brings them down to earth hard.

Later on after her shock defeat, she is given a mysterious package meant for her by stranger. Before she could ask questions, the stranger disappeared and she is left holding a small parcel, confused at what just happened. Being simply told to “Keep her safe”. Inside was a lone memory chip and nothing more. Thinking that it was broken or just something that a fan had made for her. She ended up making a dogtag like necklace out of it. Now the chip is a reminder of her previous life as she waits for death in her cell, feeling scared and alone.

I changed her design a little from last time, i thought it would be a good idea to give her a skirt, and a under arm weapon holster. Her pistol is more for self defense purposes since she isn't really much of a combatant. She's just an "ordinary" nerd (if you can call her that), not someone who's part of the Royale Corporation Gunslinger Unit (RCGU). Her birth-date is something special, 20 February 1998 was the first air date for the TV show "Robot Wars". With robots kicking the shit out of each other having to be her life, i just thought this would be a fitting date for her.

The Necklace you see to the left is the memory chip that the stranger gave her, more on that later.

Also, Her first robot she ever built was "Cybot". True story really. Since i collected a magazine myself when i was younger called "Real Robots", each edition had parts to make Cybot and i eventually got him build, bar a few missing parts. I mean, look at this video and you'll get the idea. Karin still has Cybot somewhere in her house as a memento, since it was her first robot, she has the magazines lying around too.

I've had this drawing in my book for about two months but i only uploaded it today since i got my scanner. I should really get back to updating this place more...
