So I'm trying to see if I can "paint" into Photoshop. I've done enough of the "color in the lineart" style and I wanted to see if I can pull off fully rendering an image, with the final product having no outline. Above is a current WIP where I am testing how well I can do this. (The above is also my new dA avatar.)The subject is my druid Avedral from World of Warcraft. I have a fondness for the tier 3 armor (even though I wear tier 6 currently), so I planned to draw her in Dreamwalker Armor rather than Thunderheart Armor. I used *Shiramune 's Pursia ([link] ) as a reference to render the nose. This is a far cry in quality of color and vividness. However, his style provided me with the type of nose I wished my character to have. Originally, my druid's nose looked too pixieish for my taste, so I began poking around for a reference.

So far, pretty nice. The only thing I see that needs improvement is some contrast in her ear. Certain areas need to be darker.

It's so good! The progress is really coming out fine. I like the nose the way it is, actually what calls the attention are her shining eyes, which are a little bit hypnotic. As if she is able to stop you with one glance.

I'm actually thinking of scrapping this now and redrawing it... Her face is bothering me and I don't want to really redo her chin (since that is where I determined was the source of what is bothering me about this piece).
But the new one will still be the same "model."

No, it wasn't because you posted. I just couldn't figure out what was bothering me about the image all around. Yes the new ava is the chin, but it looks fine cropped that way. Any other way, it looked weird....
