Science officers are blue shirts. Medicine is a form of science. >> Yellow shirts are, like, tactics, and... stuff, and red shirts are everyone else. (Historians, engineers, security people, communications people, ect... I think they wanted to avoid making the crew into a great ol' rainbow.)

I'm trying to understand how stating that someone's artistic prowess is average is a compliment.
No one wants to be called average.
I can't wrap my head around the fact that you felt the need to say this. I just. I cannot find the words. This is obviously not the best piece in her gallery.

... Honestly, I meant no offense. I had not observed any other of her works, and these chibis are, indeed, not exactly eye-catching, though far better-rendered than many I've seen. I proceeded to compliment the humor of the work, which is, in fact, its focus, and is quite good.
In short: I was being vaguely polite, if curt. If you think I'm rude, then feel free to call me a stupid jerk and go about your day. What is with the melodrama?

They're both blue because "science" in general is blue. It's just that Spock is space/general science and Bones is specifically medical.
