Oh, yes, I get hate on YouTube for having an alicorn OC. Whom that alicorn OC is Blazing Sun.
Appearance:
Blue fur, blonde hair, darkish-light blue eyes, white wings, golden bracelet, and an orange bow.
Info (short version):
Blazing Sun is one of the least known alicorns, and currently isn't the most powerful, but she owns a small kingdom with her husband, Robo Star (a gray, robotic earth pony). She was technically born an alicorn, however, she can be defeated if the pony is strong enough.
I actually have ALOT of information for this character, but, is there anything wrong with her?

Well...The fact that this fandom said it's all about "friendship" - it's obviously a lie. This fandom has more assholes and judgemental folks than you can imagine.
I'm not here to cause trouble or anything, but aslong as it's not related to any of the canon stuff, like
"I'm Princess/Prince [Name here] and I'm the sister of Princess Luna/Celestia/Cadence..etc.. and we both rule all of equestria together along with the other Princess' " That's totally a NO.
Unless it's anything like being a Ruler/King/Queen/Princess/Prince of another world. I'm quite a'ight with that.... But come on, probably 30% or 40% of the fandom has Alicorn OCs.

That's all well and good, but people will still hate them with a burning passion. Tons of reasons why, but personally I think it's because making your OC an alicorn is pretentious - it's just an easy way for lazy people to label their character as 'special' and 'interesting' without doing any actual work.

The reason I don't like Alicorn OCs is because it's not by the looks. I see alicorns as princesses of _____. Twilight only turned into an alicorn because she was ready to be a princess of Friendship. When people make Alicorn OCs, they don't explain or come up with what they are princesses/princes of.
Sometimes I see Alicorn OCs with descriptions saying that they are perfect at everything, known as Mary Sues.
I respect your opinion that you like the Alicorn OCs, and we all have rights to like what we want.

Original and/or fan characters have literally NO reason to even be judged. They are NOT canon, they will NEVER be canon, and it isn't hurting anyone. It is a fun drawing, and whether or not the character is individually judged as "good" should not even matter. Art is about having fun, and limiting someone's enjoyment is just going to ruin the artist's potential, and entire will to continue creating. Let them have their cake and eat it too! Let all artists enjoy life, and allow them to create whatever THEY please. A drawing is nothing more than lines and colours, it can in no way harm anyone, or affect their personal lives. And realize that behing the username and icon, is a real-life human being with their own set of feelings, emotions, and opinions. They are not lifeless online targets, there for your abuse and harassment.
And to those who for some reason believe that MLP FiM created the alicorn, please realize that the "Winged Unicorn" has existed in mythology for many, MANY years. The idea of a unicorn with wings is not a new idea, and in NO way does it makes these artists' characters immediately overpowered, "god-like" creatures for having those two physical traits alone. The winged unicorn is a beautiful creature that deserves as much notability as the Pegasus or unicorn. It has been my personal favourite mythological equine since I was just a little girl, and I for one am enjoying the recent popularity of the creature, thanks to the new MLP!
