"Remote in the desert of Araby lies the nameless city, crumbling and inarticulate, its low walls nearly hidden by the sands of uncounted ages. It must have been thus before the first stones of Memphis were laid, and while the bricks of Babylon were yet unbaked. There is no legend so old as to give it a name, or to recall that it was ever alive; but it is told of in whispers around campfires and muttered about by grandams in the tents of sheiks, so that all the tribes shun it without wholly knowing why. It was of this place that Abdul Alhazred the mad poet dreamed on the night before he sang his unexplainable couplet:

“That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.”

...I alone have seen it, and that is why no other face bears such hideous lines of fear as mine; why no other man shivers so horribly when the night-wind rattles the windows. When I came upon it in the ghastly stillness of unending sleep it looked at me, chilly from the rays of a cold moon amidst the desert’s heat. And as I returned its look I forgot my triumph at finding it, and stopped still with my camel to wait for the dawn."

The Nameless City

HP Lovecraft

*********************************************

I read Lovecraft's stories since many years ago... together with Becquer and Poe are my favorite authors of this style of narrative. The background is from a poster in my bedroom. I just scanned it and used directly with Incendia... Have you read any of the stories of Becquer?

Don't think so; I do believe I've read some Poe at school, not sure...
What do they write about? Because I love Lovecraft for his own universe and the mythology And his style is also very good. ^_^

they are writers and poets of the Gothic genre... it's literature that combines elements of both horror and romance. Some features of Gothic include terror, mystery, the supernatural, ghosts, haunted houses, etc. Lovecraft and Poe was American writers and Becquer was a poet an writer from Spain...well... Becquer's poems were of romance (several sad but beautiful), but their stories are mostly horror.

Well... something I like about Incendia is the way it allows me to translate in an image what I have in mind. And the stories that give me ideas for this works are characterized by stimulating the imagination. Imagination is what impulse the creativity. I've had the opportunity to watch your beautiful works of jewelry in your gallery and from what I saw, I think you understand what I mean.

Thank you very much for the comment and the invitation. I've seen the work of friends made with Bryce and I definitively found it spectacular. In fact one of my best friends in DA is Col Ventura, a member of your group. I'm also interested in the program, and only for lack of time I have not dealt with it yet. And of course I accept your kind invitation.

Thank you very much! ... I think that in the context of the motive in this picture, the moon is one of the most important parts.
