Phew, the background was quite difficult. Took me a whole day to do it. Had lots of fun coloring. I hope the swamp (What do you call that body of water at the end of a waterfall? Hmm...) looks like one and the rocks & boulders look a bit realistic. I still need to work on trees. I'm looking forward to buying a certain brand of colored pencils in the future to make those things smoother...

Story:

Miaka looked on as she walked, enjoying the scenery.

With Tamahome out buying supplies at a nearby town, she had been left on her own. Bored, she had chosen to walk around. She was sure that she’d be fine on her own for a few hours.

Following the sound of running water after she had managed to walk a good distance from the camp site, she was happy to find a waterfall. Taking off her jacket, shoes, and her socks, she splashed.

After time had passed, she put her shoes and socks back on, knowing that she had long walk back.

But she frowned when she noted her jacket was missing.

“Okay, I set it on that rock...”

“Did you lose something, Priestess of Suzaku?” a masculine voice asked, making her jump.

Gulping, Miaka turned to find Nakago smirking at her. How had he managed to sneak around quietly? His bulky armor should’ve given him away, like a collar with a bell on it.

That was when she saw he was holding her jacket.

“Um, can I have my jacket back please?” she asked.

To her surprise, he held it out. Miaka reached over to snatch it back, but Nakago grabbed onto her wrist with his other hand. Caught, she knew Nakago wasn’t gonna let her go. Just what would he do to her?

“If you kiss me, or agree to submit your body to me, you will have your jacket back.”

That got her to glare. How dare he ask that, after all that he had done!

“I’m not doing anything with you!” she snapped. “The only thing you can kiss is my ass!”

He smiled, as he looked over at the water.

“Hm, how long would it take for you to drown?”

Miaka gasped, as he began to drag her over. But as much as she squirmed, she couldn’t escape.

“Tamahome...” she whimpered.

“That boy can’t save you....I will ensure that you will get a proper burial.”

That was when his words made Miaka snap out of it. She had to survive, for Yui, her friends and everyone else.

“No Nakago, you are the one who will need a grave!”

That was when there was a flash of red light, and Miaka felt herself being released as she closed her eyes. Maybe her powers had reacted to Nakago’s words. But at least she wasn’t in Nakago’s grasp.

Opening her eyes when the red light had faded, she gasped as she saw Nakago had gotten burned on his hand. It didn’t look that serious, but it had to hurt. But Nakago showed no signs of being in pain.

“It seems that you are formidable” he said, as he gave his hand a glace, as he walked toward the water.

Miaka bit her lip. As rude as he had been, a burn was always painful. She hadn’t wanted to hurt him, but when had casually talked about drowning her....

“You wouldn’t have gotten injured, if you hadn’t threatened me” she said, as she walked over to pick up her jacket.

Nakago just seemed to ignore her, but at least she was free. The best thing she could do was to walk back.

Taking one last glance at Nakago as she held her jacket, she turned and walked off.
