While Ghosts are tethered to this plane because of unresolved wishes and longing, Banshees on the other hand choose to remain. There is often a misunderstanding that beings like that remain because they are all vengeful. Ghosts become vengeful only because they died feeling hurt or wanting to seek justice and over years as the undead, the feelings turn into bitter vengeance. Banshees however, die with vengeance whole and intact.

That is why a Banshee is able to give voice to their hate, and their shrill piercing voice brings pain, doubt and fear into people who hear it. In battle however, that cry turns into a weapon, and for the unprepared, the cry will shatter their minds.
