Description

Like Artemis, Skadi is also a Goddess of the Hunt, but she is very different from Artemis. Most importantly, she is the only one out of the three Major Gods of Frost to truly represent Frost in terms of its cold. Skadi is a ruthless hunter. While Artemis will plan her hunt and makes sure she still protects most of the Wild, Skadi does no such thing. For her, the ability to hunt is the thrill of the Hunt itself. As she is also the Goddess of Winter, she totally encompasses the harsh reality and viciousness of Frost in almost all aspects.

As such, Skadi is often at loggerheads with Artemis, even though they are supposedly sisters in arms under the same Element. Where Artemis treasures each and every hunter and wild creature and seeks to protect both sides, Skadi cares less if any life was lost during a Hunt, as long as both sides enjoyed themselves and much game was gotten from the Hunt. During such fights, the atmosphere around the council can drop to below chilling temperatures and more often than not, Khonsu has to step in to prevent a civil war within the Element of Frost.

Armed with her trusty spear and occasionally a battleaxe, Skadi loves nothing more than to join the hunters of the Fortress out on a Hunt. Thankfully, due to her nature and need to seek thrill, most of the Wild that Artemis seeks to protect are safe, for Skadi goes for larger and more vicious games, such as the monstrous beings living in the mountains. Because of her ferocity, the Jotuun, Fenrir and Viking all pay respects to her to gain her blessings. The Vikings are not worried about a harsh journey on the seas and as therefore does not need to seek safe passage or guidance. These three creatures of the Element of Light get blessed by Skadi and are ruthless and vicious in battle, just as Skadi is during a Hunt.
