Some of them are inspired by episode #49 of 2003's series, but the 3) was inspired by the 2004's comic, when Tenma says this to Atom. The scene is the same, but I put this as a thought and him put in a jail. I think he hardly would admit it in public...
The last phrase, instead, is all an invention. It's not spoken, just a thought, the thing I got seeing him shedding tears.

I can't help: I love this character so much, even if he has done lots of bad things to Atom and to innocent people.

You know... If you're more than smart, overcreative... but left alone, with no place to go, without any hope and let to leave all your project, hated, seen as insane... and above all with the harsh pain of a dead son, the consequences can be seen in a dramatic large scale.
I can't agree with him. But I can understand him.
I feel real pain when he hears for the third time his son rejecting him: you can see his eyes as lights turned off. I know Atom's reasons, and I can't blame him. But I also can feel the final blow for a tore apart soul... that's why he decided to put an end on all this. It also seems that he planned this from the beginning. Seeing his son jumping in Ochanomizu embrace could not be a nice show for him...

He just can't love. He loves his son, but he just can't show it, and when he tries, well, we know what happens.
A person who can't love is dramatically real.
Atom is the embodyment of hope, so he saves his father. And that's why I love Tetsuwan Atom.

Me too He's one of my fav chara and villains.

I know it and completely understand You have watched episode 49 in Japanese version? How do you feel about it? My most faved part is at the near end of the episode, when Atom got his memories back and Tenma was angry and then Ochanomizu came to take Atom back with him. And especially, I cannot forget the music background (well, I supose I've already told you that)

To tell you the truth I did not pay much attention to the music in background: it was both a relief and a pain watching all this.

All this story, in all its version, is a story about a father and a son, so I have both the sights, both the points of view.

I am happy that Atom can finally leave that creepy house, he can stop being a prisoners in his father's hands, he can live a happy life again. His father put on him any sorta of psychological violence. That was enough!

But I am sad about Tenma. He can't stand all this. His son is the last thing that keeps him in this world. And he is destined to loose him, again and again. He loses him as a state of art creation, and he loses him as a son.

So I can feel two strong sensation, opposite and together. I could not be able to follow the music too.

But, you know, I really shed tears when we see Atom on the swing, his father close to him (and we can see again how tiny Atom is), and we hear a carillon playing the old Tetsuwan Atom tune.
He's the same who fights aliens and monsters, the same who saves thousands people holding an entire buildings in his hands... and now, here he is: a kid on a baby swing... Yes, that made me cry.

Oh, yes, I remember that when Atom sat on his swing and Tenma was right standing beside him as they both stared at the night sky He looks just like not a robot boy who fight those monsters/aliens/ or such.

Seeing like his, it seems strange that he could be that frightening. All his powers, all things he can do... in the tiny form of a sweet little boy.

When I heard the old tune for the first time, it seemed to me a bit childish, a bit silly. And it was worse when I heard it in its original form as 1960's series opening. But now I changed my mind: it seems awfully sweet. And I don't skip it anymore, while watching the old 1980's series.

It appears a few times in 2003's series: when Atom's follows Tobio's thoughts and finds his old house, and there, on the swing. And, maybe, in one or two other scenes.
Times are changed, the character too. But we know he's always him.

All Tezuka's characters played different roles, and it's strangely easy to accept.
