Description Flag of the United States of America, 1861-63.

This flag was used by Unionist forces fighting against Confederate forces loyal to the Confederate States during the American Civil War.

Note 1: I use a standard palette of shades of colours for the flag designs. Contrary to the images of flags depicted on Wikipedia, I do not follow the "official" shades of colours claimed by governments as well as alternate history flags based on flags of existing countries. The problem is that it commonly results in bizarre shading of a flag if they are taken literally - in practice such "official" colour shades are almost never applied and standard reds, blues, etc, are used.

Note 2: The tags "racialism","whiteracialism", "antiblacksentiment", "antidixiesentiment" and "antiindigenoussentiment" involving racialist politics along with anti-black sentiment, anti-Dixie sentiment directed towards the population of the Deep South during the American Civil War who identified as Dixies where anti-Dixie sentiment had developed during the war, and anti-indigenous sentiment - including towards Hispanic people with significant indigenous heritage who were deemed non-white. Although the United States supported ending slavery of black Americans in the Confederate States and emancipating them it still supported white racialist policies including involving non-whites with American President Abraham Lincoln advocating for the creation of the country Liberia in Africa to encourage most black Americans to move to as he believed that the number of black Americans should be small enough so that it would discourage large scale racial intermixing of black and white Americans and so that it would discourage potential black-white racial conflict. This is not meant as disrespect to the United States or Americans but recognizing the politics in which the United States and significant numbers of Americans  have had for a significant period of time in history a significant involvement in American politics. This flag was a symbol of the United States in the in which these have been influential in American politics. This does not mean that the flag was designed to convey these, but that it is the flag representing a country where these have been significant during the history of the usage of this flag.
