Oh, look! Two no-work deviations in under three minutes!Because I'm getting annoyed here. If you want to spell it Luxus, that's supposed to be a rare pairing name for Laxus and Lucy. I don't want to hear about LuxusXMirajane. (She's totally wrong for him, btw.)
People, even the MANGA spells it Laxus. And it's happening way too often to be a typo.
Laxus doesn't mind if you spell it wrong, though. Because then he has a legitimate reason to MURDER YOU. Which makes him happy.

You know why I spell it "Luxus"? Because his name comes from "lux". Just saying.

I had a feeling that his name had an origin in lux. However, Mashima, when he speaks of the character or draws him, always, without fail, writes Laxus. I just cannot let it go. It's become a big pet peeve of mine.

Well, it doesn't really matter for me so its fine. I will keep on writing him "Luxus", but because you will never read my stories, it won't peeve you too much (I hope).

Well, there are a lot of translating issues there, because phonetically, its almost "Roxas Dorea" due to the way Japanese language produces the r and l sound. But yes, there's actually a list of Mashima-approved english alphabet counterparts for most of the original names set in character form. Don't know where it is, actually, but it's out there. They needed it for the official english translated manga on the shelves right now.
