That little boat was just the exercise I needed, though after fixing the oars to a proper length on the swivel. Someone had made them uneven and too short towards the handle to get a proper stroke. But despite the lack of a motor, the rowing was good for me and my little bro’. We even learned how to troll for fish by rowing to the point we were quiet with no splashing to spook the fish. Last night there after I had landed a 13 inch large mouth bass and released it, my brother caught a 30 inch northern pike on an ultra-light reel and pole and 4 pound test line with no net. After 15 minutes of fighting the fish he reached down and picked it up. So it wouldn’t die we placed it on a stringer and towed it back to the dock for pictures then released it. Funny part was the little blue gill and sunfish (pumpkinseed) were swimming up to the pike to investigate it. They’re normally food for pike!
