I saw some baby alligators at a wildlife park recently, and my partner commented that they looked rather like scaly puppies. This gets that feeling across pretty well.

Nice! I love its colors, and the spikes on its tail go well with it... I also like how you made its mouth... it reminds me of a trash can lid or something a little bit.
