Description Hehe Just felt like drawing a band Picture. I'm so bored now that band season is over I don't know what to do with myself. So, this dude's playin' a mellophone (in case you wanted to know).
I reposted it. I had to correct a few things like the shadow from the Shako visor and the strap from the Shako.

unfortunatly, French Horns are relitivly ignored in our band...
me and the only other French Horn in 8th grade wish we could whip out our Mellophones and show them what the superior instrument is!!!!!

Ooh, mellophone! I think my sister's boyfriend plays that during marching season (during concert season, he plays French horn). We saw a ska bad that had a mellophone in it, and a pocket trumpet. It was way cool.

Marching bands should have pocket trumpets! It'd be so cute!

some Drum Corps and marching bands use pocket trumpets for solos! we had one in our band room! it was super fun

I have this really wierd question for you (I'm still in middleschool): Do you change over to mellophone if you play the trumpet? Is it practicly the same?! IDK!!!!

you don't have to if you really enjoy trumpet, but switching from trumpet to mellophone is really easy! all the notes have the same fingerings and, unless your band requires you to use a mello mouthpiece, your trumpet mouth piece will fit! I'd really recommend it if you're looking to switch. most marching bands love having as many mellos as possible, and you'll get some really neat parts in the arrangements usually. Plus, it's a better balanced instrument as far as weight's concerned. While it is heavier than a trumpet, the weight is more evenly distributed throughout, making horn lifts and simply standing at attention much more controlled. I hope this helped!

i actually stopped marching when i started college but i play some guitar and i still play my saxophone recreationally
