Description I think Radiohead is Just the best band. Some say I Might Be Wrong in saying so; that Anyone Can Play Guitar like Jonny or Thom or Ed. I Can't believe there's people who think that... How Do You even think anyone can compare to them? I honestly think they're good enough that almost any of their songs could qualify to be The National Anthem of a country. While you may think I'm wasting my Dollars And Cents by buying all their albums, I Will continue to collect their CDs and even some lives on Videotape.

And there are those who say The King of Limbs was a bit of a Let Down. That we all knew it was coming; that it contained No Surprises. That they're going downhill, and that they should simply Give Up The Ghost and stop writing altogether. But if you ask me, they've still got Everything In Its Right Place and I will therefore remain Optimistic about their future releases. You can Sulk all you want; I still enjoy their music right down to my Bones. If we're Lucky, they'll return to their roots and throw some more guitar in there. But that may just be a Nice Dream at this point.

As both a Radiohead fan and most likely your friend, I say "There There"; I know that if You just Stop Whispering negative things about Radiohead and listen to them, Little By Little you will learn to like them. Even if their music is somewhat melodramatic, slow, and even a bit bizarre at times, not everyone's a Creep just for listening to them. I find they are often All I Need to turn a bad day into a great one; if there's too much on my plate and I'm feeling a bit like a Scatterbrain. So just Go To Sleep, wake up to your Morning Bell with an open mind, and give them a chance. Don't just leave this legendary band High And Dry.

Oh yeah also they wrote a song called Subterranean Homesick Alien

thanks, i'm glad you enjoy them and glad you enjoyed the piece. i started listening to them in about 2009 and though what i would call an "obsessive phase" has waned, i still have most of their albums and, in fact, was listening to some amnesiac b-sides on the bus today. they have so much music to get into, and most of it is so multi-layered as well

This sums everything up, except I disagree with everyone waiting for "return to the roots". We all love the roots, but I find that I love the experimentations just as much and sometimes even more.

I love their experimental material as well, but when TKoL was released it seemed to highlight the people who yearned for the sounds of Pablo Honey to make a reappearance, which I took as inspiration for that line u_u

I really like Radiohead they have a very "Feral" attitude in their style of rock, even with TKOL; it's a kinda a "Supercollider" of electronic undertones in "Bloom" with strong indie rock influences. Even the drums which are chaotic over the guitars going through effects and synths buzzing but the band manages to put "Everything in Its Right Place".

I would love Radiohead even if they just buzzed like a fridge. Yes, Radiohead is just Inside My Head in a way that makes me a Scatterbain, but Optimistic.

King of Limbs wasn't a Let Down, it didn't leave me High and Dry. The first couple tracks were... Like Spinning Plates, not my cup of tea, but songs like Codex and Lotus Flower were All I Need.

When it comes to Radiohead, I don't Sulk. I Might Be Wrong... Nah, Fuck that. Radiohead can do no wrong and I will pull my Knives Out and defend them. They are no House of Cards, they have Street Spirit.

I even wrote a story inspired by Pyramid Song (No really, I did! Check my page, it's called Black Eyed Angel)! But even so, when anyone talks shit on Radiohead, I say, "I Want None of This," then I proceed to do a 15 Step on their face.

So there.

And Subterranean Homesick Alien rocks.

Haha nicely done!! But I don't know what "I Want None of This"

prettyflour In reply to Hobo-Rooster [2011-06-18 22:34:41 +0000 UTC]

After reading yours, (Which was awesome) I couldn't help myself!

I Want None of This is a song Radiohead did that is featured on a compilation album called Help: A Day in the Life, which was released in 2005. It featured other artists such as Coldplay, Gorillaz, Damien Rice, Keane and some others I can't think of at the moment... The proceeds of the album were donated to a charity that supported war-torn countries.

See? Radiohead is so freaking stellar that they tried to help people in need. It made me love them even more. I think it's fair to say, they are my favorite band of all time.
