Very utilitarian, I like it! A no-frills mid-20th century battle rifle. Iron sights only though? We need to slap some picatinny on there :T. Tap, tap, tap that receiver.Β

Not sure if it is the gun itself or the overall picture composition, but this basically screams Swiss(or IDF) to me

I really like the design of this gun, each every little detail seems pretty well thought out and a practical addition. It's not overly expensive or event high-tech or tactical, yet it would be a great thing to have. The bakelite-looking furnishings add that old Eastern European feel, as does the room it's in, which is really cool in and of itself but it's actually really awesome. So, it's got a muzzle break and a sling, which can be added to any weapon and generally just improve their in general. It's got an adjustable stock, a left-sided charging handle (which is much easier to reach and helps keep the weapon sealed off from the environment by not having that big slit that Ak's and other weapons tend to have), as well as a fore-finger safety similar to a mini-14 and a paddle magazine release, which all really would help with the use of the weapon while not being that expensive or more complex in any way. Just a great design element.Β

Finally, it breaks open by folding it forwards (or at lest removing the upper receiver from the lower), and has a detent button to allow that, which would make it more accurate than a standard Ak (similar to an XM8 or Tavor in how you remove the recoil spring) and allow the upper receiver to be quickly swapped out. The thing is, this seems like a combination of features from multiple guns around the world and is completely original, as in there is no actual weapon like it. It shares a lot of features with the Ak and G3, and seems to be a hybrid of it.Β

It's super practical while not being overly "tacti-cool" or complex, essentially being very elegant. I have to give you props for this as the gun design is not only very cool in appearance, but completely original in design and yet still very realistic. Always nice to see that.Β

Thanks. Yes, the intent was to make it believable in a Cold War context. I'm glad it turned out all right.

If only you could get this into a 3D Model, it'd fit Fallout 4 perfectly in every aspect.

Yes, actually.
My line of thought for the visual design was something like, "what if Walther made an automatic rifle in the 20th century?"
