Description
This is a paper model of the 1960's era M16A1, including the M203 grenade launcher.
The receiver and associated modular parts are based on my previous AR-15-pattern models, representing the fourth generation (V4) of a long project that has undergone several stages. The level of detail and build sturdiness have been improved, to include some notable features like modeled cartridges, magazine catch, and so on. A minimum complete build takes 37 pages.

What kind of paper does this use?

Letter (8.5x11") or A4 size. Scale to printable area (don't try to print them at original image size, because they won't match).

3. What do the version numbers mean?

V1 & V2: Old versions, both handmade.

V3: Most common version, digitalized and ok build quality, although with some notable weaknesses, such as the barrel and stock. V3 magwell has a retaining bar at the back that holds the magazine in place.

V3A416: Hk416 that uses V3 receiver measurements and magazine system. Introduces the new buffer tube and barrel well, which I've used ever since.

V3A31: Improved V3. Lessons learned from the V3A416 model back to the standard M4 carbine configuration.

V4: Newest version, with realistic proportions and mag release. The receiver proportions are different and the magazine is correctly held in place by a mag catch interfacing with a hole on the side. It also has modeled cartridges in it. The buffer tube and stock attach exactly like the V3A31 generation, so all the old stocks are useable. The barrel well extends forward of the receiver, and the barrel nut goes over it.
