Description Finally found the time to do some art again. First picture with my new OS (Vista 64), no more memory barriers... well, except for the barriers of my financial possibilities.

Work was done in 3ds max, Photoshop and Vue. Again some Maya ruins in the jungle. Done that before in my collab with Voyager. But I wanted to try again.

Anyway, enjoy, fave, comment, just view or set as wallpaper. Full-sized download is allowed (which is 1920x1200). I got a bigger version on my hdd but I won't share that one.

Beautiful art!
You could always use your old computer(s) to help in your rendering time, by using them in a render-farm, or cluster [link] (link is to an IBM article)

was it a faster render?

Depends... What is really fast? A bullet? A supersonic jet? Terragen? Terragen with lots of water in it? A bit more than 20 hours. Rendered in Vue at 3200x2000 in highest quality settings.

terragen with lots of water makes me sad. this is awesome, especially the vegetation. structures still seem a tad lazy, but whatever.
oh, getting around to actually using the render you gave me

Thanks a lot. And I don't need stars... All I really care about is faves... faves... faves and pageviews...

I like how you can see the rings of this planet going off into the horizon and that Moon looks SO Terragen 2 too (menaing it's good!)

I think I have a feeling how you did those mountains too, did you use the "peaks" terrain in Vue, and stretch it up in the world views? if so, I've gotta try that

Thanks. I rendered the rings in 3ds max and manipulated them into the vue render as well as the moon (which is max too, obviously). For my terrains I use GeoControl. Fantastic tool. And not too expensive. But I stretched the terrain on right, so you're half right.

awesome

the jungle looks better (in comparission with Antediluvian stuff) and those mountains in background - brilliant

Maybe we should do a remake of Antediluvian?
I have some new ideas and skills, and your renders are also getting better and better

Thanks Voyager, if you want too I can mail you the original sized picture. Maybe you wanna play with it a little? If not, I'm willing (and able) to render a new scene, maybe a bit different... not jungle or desert but with pyramids like these or other ancient structures. Note me if you want to...

Sweet deal. I like the scope of the jungle, with the mountains and the structures to boot.
