I hope I'm not about to overload you with too much stuff to read now. You can just skip past it if you don't want to know about all the birds I've had and how they died.
I've never had a budgie before... I've had a canary, four cockatiels and a cockatoo before. The canary's name was Clark, since he was the last survivor of our next-door neighbour's aviary of canaries that started disappearing one by one. He was attacked by a butcherbird once, but when he died it was from age.
My first cockatiel was scared to death by a cat when I was 9. His name was Buckleys, and he was only three years old. Mum called him that 'cause she'd been trying to hand-rear other cockatiels, but they all died from cold weather and she didn't think he had a particularly good chance of surviving. The phrase "buckleys chance" means that something has a very low chance of happening.
The next cockatiel was also male, although we don't know why he died. He was flying around and crashing into the walls one night and in the morning he was dead. We called him Atlas.
The third and fourth were females, specifically a silver and a cinnamon-pied. Their names were Freya and Isis, respectively, and they escaped when I accidentally left their cage outside on something unstable.
The cockatoo's name was Chucky. He had that name when we got him, since he was very destructive. He was only 1 year old, and he escaped as well.

but still, I didn't pay any attention when my cat got close to him and then it all went really fast, she jumped, grabbed him and ..man i dont wanna remember this.

but these stories sound pretty sad tbh. especially that one w/ buckleys. I'm really sorry to hear that.
my budgie tosha was the first one I've ever had, and he wasn't even a year old..quite a short life. Β when my mom was young they had lots of them, some died from age, some escaped, and one wasn't right in the head, lost control of his wings and flew into a hot cup of coffee and died.

Yeah... some of them are even more fragile than that, too. I've been told gouldian finches can be scared to death really easily.
