I so love this series! Great to see more. I have a whole book I found on Elvgren, but find their faces so exaggerated that I'm having trouble with them.
Right now I'm going to do some more Fashionable Ladies. I found a clip art book that goes all the way through from the 1900s thru the sixties. It's got Channel, Worth, Lavin etc. all the famous and silly dresses we women either endured in or loved & gloried in.

I am also not a fan of Elvgren - the expressions are so contrived.
Great blog on Bolles says: " I love Bollesβ pinup paintings. His style is vastly different from most other pinup artists and his girls just have an entirely different air about them. They are so very glamorous, and they are truly seductive rather than looking stupid or displaying contrived innocence (no βoopsβ faces!)." [link]

Too funny! I just downloaded a pic of his last night and am wondering how to approach it, I did not realize your gals were his until now (I'm awful at reading artists comments). Does that mean we have the same taste in women?

really love how Enoch Bolles is tossed in the air as if she's just performed a trapeze act with a tray in hand.
very nice. ^^

It was a great original pinup [link] and then I rotated her upside down!

I like digital as an alternative because I can make it when I'm away from my "real" studio! (No need for glue, scissors, and mess - I can even do it in my lunchbreak at work ...)
