Description Collage on 8 x 8" museum stretched canvas

Crop from St Catherine by Raphael
Paper, gesso, acrylic paints and glazes, inks, crackle glaze, washi tape, acetate transparency.

A circular hole has been cut into the canvas, and a round perspex container inserted. Inside the container is a collection of pearl beads, vintage watch parts, and dried rose petals.
Bottom picture shows the collage photographed standing upright against the light.

For *audreysmith 's collection of collaged religious curiosities, if she likes it.

I attribute it to a low boredom threshold - I'm always trying new things.

The little perspex box was from MakingMemories and originally held eyelets. We collagistes use everything, even the packaging!

I love packaging. Am I to understand that you have finally used up all your eyelets? I am down to virtually none. I found myself considering buying another tin, if you can believe that. Sometimes I am my own worst enemy!

Oh no, I still have lots of eyelets. I tipped them into a glass jar so that I could use this container. But they are running low and I will be buying more ... I'm just a sucker for collage supplies.

Now I've just got to figure out how to hang it, so that the light comes through the back.

You'll have to hang it old school, with a string or wire that lets the top jut out a bit more than the bottom of the frame so that light can get in behind the piece. Cuts down on glare, too. Plus it looks so very turn of the century.
