Pattern I chose was quite complicated. 6 hours of non stop painting gave my model cramps

I'm interested in the blanket. Where did you get it? I have one which I got back in the early 60's in Vietnam.

Actually it's not a blanket, it's just a very long piece of fabric, probably cotton. My mother bought it on a trip to Venice about 30 years ago. I admired it for years, and I was thrilled when she finally let me use it.

well, thanks for that info. That same fabric of mine is about 30-36 inches wide and maybe 5-6 feet long. It think it has fringe on either end. I called it a blanket but it's not really. It's a beautiful pattern and your paint job is even more beautiful. Thank you for writing back.

This is an awesome concept (and so wonderfully executed!). Immediately it makes me think about the social commentary about not only the use, but the public's view, of robes and traditional head coverings. How the woman underneath is lost, both physically and personally, as no one is able (or willing) to look past the robes and see the person that is underneath. As such, she is viewed by her robes first then as a woman second, rather than a woman who is wearing robes.
