A while ago there was a trend on DA that consisted on taking a Disney coloring page and a famous painting as reference for colors. Well lately I haven't been feeling too inspired about drawing but I wanted to practice painting so it seemed like the right time to do this meme
I took a Jasmine page because she doesn't get much love in my gallery. It's this page : [link]

... Your Mulan picture comments said you didn't "capture" something... and I think I know what it is. In this painting, Jasmine is less realistic, and thus more true to the magic of the movie and all the memories people have of that.

Those colors are fantastic! I love her jewelry and how you colored her skin. The texture of everything looks perfect - her clothes, the water, the stone. It's all really beautiful.

Actually those are supposed to be lotus flowers not water lillies. They are vastly different botanically.

This picture is amazing! The detail and coloring and everything is just beautiful! I love her eyes, they're so expressive. I also love how her hair is realistic and that the same time it has the cartoonish shape that makes Jasmine's hair so recognizable. I love this to bits.
