I never knew if I wanted Victor to be with Emily or Victoria, in the end. Either way the end is so painful to watch, with Emily bursting into butterflies (and I'm oh so busting into butterflies when I die, too). It's kind of a happy ending but I can't forget that the whole movie is about how her life was WASTED. And that, my friends, is really sad.Watch the end here : [link]

It's not her fault; she was duped by Barkis, just like Victoria nearly was. Β So the saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you. Β Fool them twice, shame on me." Β I bet you anything that, after the societally appropriate period of mourning was observed, Victor and Victoria would name their first girl child Emily in the hopes that she would live the life the extraordinary woman who brought them together never got to have.

Tim Burton is my favorite director ever and this is one of my favorite movies by him. The stop animation he does incredible! This is so beautiful and so sad! I love Emily in this and I can't wait for Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children to be released in 2015! Tim Burton is directing it of course

I've always felt the same way, too, but I still definitely choose Emily. Β I feel that yeah he liked Victoria, but it was arranged and for all the wrong reasons. Β Emily is someone he stumbled upon, and fell for, and that's how I feel love should go. XD
