Description I am sewing again! I wanted to do something fun and different to get back into sewing so I thought a floppy beanie plushie would be perfect. I had SO much fun making this! I am totally going to have to make some other characters too!

I went with the plastic pellet filling instead of the styrofoam beads and I am so glad that I did! She is surprisingly heavy and it makes her so awesome. She makes this great bean-bag sound too when you move her. She is just right for hanging out on your shoulder.

Twilight Sparkle is sold.

Details: She is handmade by me from my pattern that I designed. Twilight is made from high quality minky fabric. Her head is stuffed firmly with non-allergenic polyester Silky Soft ultra plush fiber. Her body is filled with Plastic Bean Bag Fill Pellets. Her eyes are oval plastic safety eyes. She has no cutie mark because I thought it would take away from her soft floppyness. She is about 9 inches long from foot to foot and her wingspan is 9 inches.

I wish I knew the pattern to make my own. My Luna Plushies I made were smoke damaged so badly and all my fabric is gone too. XD Housefires suck. But I got more and supplies. My question is how do you do the hair so nicely? I'm going to remake my plushies but I need help with the hair. Can I please have advice? You're amazing at this!! (PS I don't sell my plushies, I just make them.) I can send my email to talk more. I only ask for teh helps!Ā

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about your housefire -- that's really unfortunate. I hope everybody is okay!

Thank you for the compliments! There are a lot of different ways to do hair, you just have to experiment and find what works the best for you. I personally like to use scrap cloth or paper towels to drape it around and see where I want to to lay. I like this way because I can easily cut chunks and slices into it and reposition it onto another place on the fabric and tape it down to create a new seam. I just repeat this a lot until I'm happy with how it sits. Then I cut the spots where I taped new seams and flatten it out and that's my pattern. From there depending on the style of hair I'm going for I either stuff it, sew a layer of quilt batting into the hair, or sometimes I don't stuff it at all if I want it to be really loose.

I hope that helps! If you find this way doesn't work well for you that's totally okay too, there's another technique out there somewhere that will work perfectly - don't give up trying and you'll find it!

I agree, I love the eyes as well! It adds a certain character I don't know how to describe, but it's definitely refreshing and different from the usual embroidered eyes. Simplicity <3
