I am not sure what kind of bat this is. The book I got the picture I base this drawng off of says "pygmy fruit bat" but when I tried googling more pictures of the adorable creature.... The bats I got all looked a lot different... Cute, but not the same
I think this is my favorite kind of bat
Oh, yeah, I used fineliner pens (for the details), a manga shading pen (for the black background), and a black colored pencil (for the overal shading of things) to put this picture together. I wish I had waited an used india ink-and-a-brush for the background because the shading pen made it look all streaky...
This picture isn't really new... I've had i in my sketchbook for a while now... but I thought I'd post it because I haven't posted anythin in a while and I thought it might be liked.

Its a Phyllostomid, aka as New World leaf-nosed bats, you can try googling this species: Uroderma bilobatum, Artibeus jamaicensis, or Artibeus lituratus, its any of those bats, but I also love this particular kind of bats. Is this really a sketch?!?!

I think the background that you call streaky actually adds to the picture making it look more like it's at night.

very, very nice... but... the wing has an extra finger... as bats have 4 fingers in the wing. yours has 5. still, its great.

In this particular picture, the "fifth" finger is actualy a part of the other wing. (it's like that in the refrence photo I used)
It does look kind of confusing, though. If I ever do this picture over again I'll probably make it so that wing is entirely hidden.
