I was just thinking about the Dinotopia mini show the other day and I felt like drawing Zippo.I'm kinda sad because I did the title of one of the books before remembering I get much more consistently skinny lines with a skinny paintbrush than with my calligraphy pen.
Also... ignore the black ooze, that's not a part of the picture.

Oh god I forgot they gave him human hands! It's a nice piece but the Dinotopia nerd in me is screaming out "DINOTOPIA USES SCROLLS! DINOSAURS CAN'T TURN PAGES! DID NO ONE READ THE BOOK?!"

I LOVED this series. It was so long, which further proved how much of a masterpiece it was. The concepts were great, the story was deep, and overall it had a great impact.

The lead boys were a bit more... irritating... than I would have liked...Β But yeah... other than that it was pretty cool

Well, now that you mention it, they did have a few character flaws...I think... But sometimes you don't need great protagonists to have a perfect story, am I right?

I don't expect characters to be perfect.Β It's just that watching characters be irritating brats for extended periods of time (at least without having "karmic"Β comedy hitting them on a regular basis) isn't really fun.
I will give it to the writers that - while they gave you the reasons behind each boys' a-holery - it didn't feel too much like they were trying to excuse it.Β Some shows very hard-core try to do that, often with characters way, way, way worse than David and Carl (like... straight up mass murderers) and it's just intolerable.
