Wow, that is very interesting. I'm learning a lot from different artist about rendering. It's not as I imagined to be.

I thought it was all computer generated from start to finish. But came to find the artist are using an assortment things in their creations. Like models, wooden artist muse, dolls, photographs and anything else for their images. Forgot to mention "DAZ" where one can purchase images. Was a bit of disappointment to learn that; but then again thru rendering, you can do a whole lot more, which is cool. Some have mentioned the time in hours to make the renderings.
As I scroll, I look for things artist (not those I am watching) have done of interest to me. If his/her works are consistently really great, then I add them to my watch list. Even at that, some of the watched artist work does not always appeal to me.
Sorry, got off subject and started to babel.

It's better if you use several software.
Xps only is good but limited (it's my opinion) :
3 ligths only, your imagination is limited to the models,
sometimes "bugs" on the characters and cloths.
With Paintshop Pro, I can add what I want on the model, background etc.
Exemples on the picture above : The nekclace, earring and Jesus
disappeared on the back.
I can correct the flaws like a painter haha !
I really like this part of the creation by the way.
