Description Chapter One

I stared out of my parent’s car window at the Wisconsin view. Watching the blur of trees passing as my father, Roger Johnson drove down the highway; I put my feet up against the passenger seat where my mother, Molly Johnson, was sitting.  A green and white sign caught my attention. “5 miles to Point Place” it read, I kicked the seat as a groaned. Did we have the move? I thought to myself, I had a great life back in Boston. All my friends were there, I was also able to do whatever I wanted when I wanted. Go to concerts, skip class, get free beer, Hell if I wanted to smoke on the roof without getting caught from the cops, I could have! Instead I have to move to a small nothing little town call Point Place because my dad got a job as assistant manager in some dumb ass store called Pricemart. Half the reason my parents are happy we moved is because almost every weekend my mom would answer the door to me in cuffs.

Another sign passed by, this time it said “Welcome to Point Place, Wisconsin”. I rolled my eyes and kicked the seat harder “GOD DAMN IT!” I cursed. “Young lady don’t make come back there!” Roger warned me, “and stop kicking your mother’s seat!” He used the rear view mirror to stare at me; I gave him a sour look.

“Oh cheer up sweetie, this is a chance to start fresh and make new friends.” Molly smiled I sighed “Mom, me and my friends were supposed to go to a Wings concert, you know as in Paul Fucken McCartney and the Wings!”

“Language!” Roger snapped, “Stop complaining, we took you and your friends to a Beatles concert.”

True, Lyn almost passed out the second Paul was on stage and Liz wouldn’t stop crying as Ringo sang.  Hear the band broke up was one of the darkest moment in my life, next to this.

“That’s the house?” I asked as I pushed my face against the window.  I kicked the door open and jumped out then I grabbed my Beatles bag and box of records.  My blue eyes gazed up at the sky blue house with white trimming and a barn roof  I walked up to the steps and turned the brass door knob into the new home.  Looking around I saw a wide living room and to my left a stair case. “Honey if you go up stair on the lift there is a bed room big enough for you and your easel.” Molly smiled and hugged me tight.  I gave my mother a polite smile.  My shoes squeaked on the hard wood floor as I made my way up stairs.  Straight ahead was a bed room, next to it was the master bed room and on the other side of the door way was a small bathroom. Next to the bathroom away from the other rooms was a four step stair case to another room. I shrugged my shoulders and walked into the room. My eyes grew wide as I saw how big my bedroom was, much bigger then my closet size room at the old apartment we use to live. I had my own bathroom and a semi-walk in closet. A large window with a seat and a platform in the corner. “Sweet” I said to myself. Near the platform there was a door, I put my stuff down and went to check it out.  I tried to open the door, but it was locked.  “Damn it!” I kicked the door and walked away to get more of my stuff.

“Last one.” I smiled as I put up the last poster I had on my purple walls.  Ding Dong! “Someone get the door!” Roger yelled, that was my cue to get the door so I ran down stair and opened the door. A short woman with blonde hair flipped up, she held a casserole dish. Next to her was a tall balding man who looks like he was in a bad mood.

“Hello there, my name is Kitty Foremen and this is my husband Red, Ahahahahaha!” She laughed in a high pitched tone. “Oh geez Kitty” Red groaned, “little girl is your parents home?” I stared at them with a bored look in my eyes and nodded my slowly. My mother ran out of the kitchen  with a big smile on her face, “ Hello, My name is Molly Johnson and this is my daughter Antonia.” She put her arm around me. “Toni” I said through my teeth.

“Well aren’t you cutie pie, how old are you?” Kitty asked me “17” I told her trying not to be rude. “We have a son named Eric who is 17, we live right across the street.”  The smile didn’t leave her face. “Oh Antonia, it looks like you could be making a new friend all ready.” Molly pinched my cheek. I pulled away and gave her my famous death look that normally scars the shit out of her.

“We have a whole group of teens just hanging out in our basement, sorta like a teenage wasteland, ahahahahahah!” Kitty laughed again, “Red why don’t you walk Antonia across the street and have her meet the kids.”

“Kitty, don’t you think -”

“Red, just do it.”

“Go ahead, honey” Molly said particle pushing me out the door. I followed Red across the street, “You don’t need me to hold your  hand, do you?” He asked me. I just gave him a blank stare.  Red reminded me of grumpy from Snow White and the seven dwarfs. We walked to his house and entered the back door. Through the house and down the cellar stairs.

“Eric, your mother found you a new friend” he yelled down to his son. He looked back at me and gave me a satanic  like smile as if he was sending me to hell “have fun” he patted me on the back and walked away.
