I have an interesting time when it comes to drawing the Final Fantasy VI characters. To me, the Amano versions never look quite right. Too delicate? Too watercolor-y? Whatever it is, I never thought that the official art looked like the characters in game. I realize there were game limitations and all.

When I was a kid, I played this game ALL the time, but anytime I drew him I based him on Axel from Streets of Rage. The plan for this version was to do a proper Amano style design, but I just couldn't make it work. I found the Dissidia version to be more in line with how I always pictured him.
