Thanks... though, truth be told, I took a lot of inspiration for the pose from All-Star Superman(which, btw, is the only comic book to have ever made me tear-up by the end).

Seriously, that book is so beautifully-written, it almost make you forget that it came form the same company that(apparently) hates his guts(as well as several other parts of him)...

The number of times they've written him as being an asshole, a villain, a loser, an idiot, and/or more(recently) like Batman... DC/WB might not "hate" him, but they certainly have no qualms about misusing him.

Well I wouldn't call him half those things but I get what you mean, DC for the new 52 tried to make him act what they perceive as more realistic instead of the big blue boy scout he's been for years and if I'm being honest, the boy scout act was getting a bit irritating to me before the change. Though I think the recent stories with Superman being a hero despite losing his powers have put him in a bit more of a favorable light.

I guess that's true... too bad they've already done stories like that pre-52(in particular, that one time he was stuck in Kandor and basically became a Kryptonian Batman named Nightwing)... but hey, what do I know?

I get what you mean, there's hardly any stories done now that seem like they aren't redoing old stories and most of the ones that try to tell a different story don't end up all that great.
