Joker is gone, he’s not laughing, you’ve got to stop listening the voices,” Batman tried to soothe you down without even knowing if you could hear him, let alone be comforted by his words, all he could hear from the other side was your steady but shallow breathing. “Bruce? Is that you? What am I doing in the hospital? What happened? All I can remember was Joker kidnapping me and then everything else is kind of fuzzy,” You replied hazily. Batman lit up with joy, finally you had awoken after 3 days of long and agitating waiting. “It is me! I’m coming, just hold on! I’m in my Batsuit right now so I can’t enter but don’t worry, I’m going back home right away! I’m so glad you’re awake, I thought I nearly lost you! Do you know how bad I would’ve felt if I knew being Batman would actually get you seriously hurt or even killed? I don’t know how I’d move on from that level of pain,” Bruce’s word flooded into your ears, he seemed so elated at you waking up that he barely had enough time or breath to spit out all the words he wanted to before his next rushing thought came along, you half-smiled, your face very sore, but knowing he was this concerned about you did make you appreciate him all the more, even if you knew dating him was dangerous. “I don’t care how dangerous it is, I love you,” You replied.
