THIS TOOK ME LIKE A MONTH
I got the idea to draw book chars. as cats so that I wouldn't have to draw them as humans (HARD), and this way I can design them, too! You guys are encouraged to guess who is who. All of them are from book series or book trilogies/whatevers (not graphic novels) that are about humans/humanoids, and they're all main protagonists, title chars., or, in one case, very significant main chars. Below I'll list the ones that've been guessed 'n stuff.
Bow 'n arrow cat Katniss Everdeen, The Hunger Games:
easy
I think y'all get this one fast. I made it pretty obvious. and I'm kind of sorry that her ears look like devil horns
Wave cat Percy Jackson, Percy Jackson & the Olympians:
easy
Very happy with this one. I think I really captured his personality 'n stuff. That wave, too~ <3
Tuxedo cat Artemis Fowl, Artemis Fowl series:
hard
I'm afraid that nobody'll guess this one. D: I couldn't think of any symbols or anything to draw him with.
Broomstick cat Harry Potter, Harry Potter series:
easy
NO ONE could POSSIBLY fail to guess this one! I mean, lookit! Over three obvious symbols! and dang that broomstick gave me so much trouble you wouldn't believe
Dragon 'n sword cat Eragon Shadeslayer (+ Saphira), the Inheritance Cyce:
easy
I don't actually have any comments for this one???
Sister 'n brother cats Amy and Dan Cahill, the 39 Clues:
hard
Haven't really got anything to say here, either...
Grinning cat Bartimaeus the djinn, the Bartimaeus trilogy:
hard
Didn't actually have to do much designing for this one, since in book 2 of his trilogy he actually takes the form of "a grey tomcat" in one (or several?) part(s).
Sibling cats The Baudelaires (Sunny, Klaus, Violet), A Series of Unfortunate Events:

Theirs is a sad, unfortunate story. O:

I ~absolutely love~ your design for Percy oh my goodness. Fabulous job there. And I just noticed the wave design on his back; that's clever. Looks relatively natural, too!
I like the pose and expression of 'grinning cat' a lot. He's cool, though I haven't a clue as to who he is. ^^
