One thing I noticed that surprised me was how soon I laughed again...and how 2+ years later, the silliest things will remind me of my daddy and make me want to cry.
I'm sure he wouldn't want you to be sad. :3 Cliche as it is, you just have to remember he'd want you to be happy.

same with me.. laughin. it took me awhile.. i'll remember the funny things about my dad and talk about it and it'll make me want to cry no matter how good it made me felt. the thing that keeps rubbing me wrong is that i keep having dreams of him, when he was alive and well. only last night i had a dream where he was still here but still ill. it hurts everytime i wake up cuz its like my dreams are the only real place i have to see him, talk to him and touch him, ya catch me? but either way its like in real life i have to go on and know that he knows i love him and he does want me to be happy.
thanks for your words! it makes me feel better. =]

Been there so I understand. What gets me most is the "I can't do that anymore" moments. Or seeing little girls in stores with their dads, riding on their shoulders or swinging from their arms. That still gets me. ^_^;
You just have to understand that its ok to mourn. Its ok to miss him. You might feel like people expect you to get over it in a very short time, but I know the loss is devastating. Yes, you shouldn't let it interfere with your life, you should go on and be strong for your dad, but its ok to stop and cry sometimes. Its ok to honor him. Every father's day, I go to where we scattered my dad's ashes and leave a flower. Things like that. I have a small shelf where I keep some of his favorite things and a small vial of his ashes. From time to time, I'll look at it and say "Hi daddy." Crazy huh? XD
I don't think it will ever be easy, but it will get easier.
