Hey, did you remember Relasmunde, that trash fanparent I did for Princess Peach, who appeared twice on this site? (the really first drawing of her was putted in storage a while ago)
She's back! After drawing another interpretation of the princess' parents for a commission, I was really inspired to bring back my own version, and god! I was so inspired to draw at least the mother and to give her a bit of bio!<3
I also wanted to change her name, since I didn't like Relasmunde anymore... Since she's a character directly related to a canon character, I don't want to deepen her too much to respect, as much as I can, the Mario Canon, but I'm still glad of the result of her appearance! ;^;

A little advice: during the creation of her character I mostly watched canon sources, since I know of an existance of a version of Peach's father who appeared in some comics, but since they aren't confirmed by Nintendo, I tend to don't look at them so much.

You know, this character implies a massive dose of personal headcanons about Mario's lore: if you don't like them it's fine, but please leave a constructive critic or continue browsing Deviantart! And if you want to ask me anything about her, feel free! I know they may be some unclear details, since I still have to lean properly English, but I hope this will be comprehensive!

Rosamunde Toadstool is the current Queen of the Mushroom Kingdom, wife of King Peter, and mother of Princess Peach.
However, she was the former ruler of the kingdom, but due to a long and weakening illness she contracted shortly after the birth of her daughter, she had to leave the throne to her husband and retire herself in a peaceful place in order to survive; so Princess Peach, during her infancy, lived between her castle with her father and the villa where the mother stays, and were both of the parents to choose Toadsworth to take care of their daughter when they couldn’t.
Nowadays, Rosamunde’s conditions are generally good, despite she still have to be cautious to don’t work too hard, and she’s mostly seen as a symbolic figure to the Kingdom, who appears rarely in public, and she’s still really loved by Toads for her notorious calm and supporting nature during emergencies.

Peach became the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom during the events of the first Super Mario Bros, when Bowser transformed most of the inhabitants in blocks and plants, where the King, in order to protect his daughter from Bowser, was muted into a giant ? block, now placed in Rosamunde’s house.
Despite shortly after Peach was saved from Mario, she was able to turn back whoever was transformed by Bowser’s dark magic, the princess found some serious struggles to bring back her father in his human form again cause her still weak powers, and when she’s not kidnapped, she still tries to strengthen them as she can.

Naturally Rosamunde’s reaction, when her husband was transformed, was initially devastated, and that event worsened her health, but she was still strong enough to survive and recover, and she promised herself to take care to Peter even in this form, and for this reason she placed him in her home, and looks at him when Peach isn’t visiting them.
Nowadays Rosamunde still lives her calm life, but she’s still willing to greet Peach and her friends at any time (and offering them her cake: and yup, it was her who taught baking to Peach) and support them, however she, despite Peach forgave him after knowing him for a LONG time, dislikes Bowser and his reign, and doesn’t want to see him in her home.

Trivia: Did you noticed that Rosamunde's hair is pretty similar to Rosalina's? The answer is simple: in my headcanon Peach's mother is a direct descendant of the Star Lady's brother, mentioned in the famous storybook, and always in my mind, Rosalina's family was a Toadstool's direct ancestor, so Peach and Rosalina are distantly related. (and nope, I don't believe in the Game Theorists' famous speculation. It was way too absurd, in my humble opinion)
