Because it was a bromance before it was a romance

I imagine this probably took place early in their frienship.
Before this first brofist Wesley attempted to brofist with R.J. who knows how many times, and always ended up with a confused look from R.J. and an awkward silence instead.
Wesley had almost given up on R.J. brofisting him when he finally received a tentative little fist bump from R.J. after a mission one day.
This made Wesley extremely happy, and he became even more happy when R.J. called him his bro (which prompted a brohug from Wesley and a tiny freakout from R.J.).

In fact, I think this might've been one of the things that helped Wesley learn how to deal with R.J., in that he (Wesley) needed a certain amount of coaxing, persistence, and encouragement to get R.J. to do things he doesn't know how/ doesn't want to do.
If anyone flat out demands R.J. do something he doesn't want to do, chances are high he won't do it (he can be very childish at times).

And drawing this sort've reminded me that although sometimes I make it look like Wesley puts up with the difficulties of R.J.'s personality and is the only one who changes, R.J. changes and puts up with a lot for Wesley too.
I guess it's just slower to show and much more subtle with R.J. because he's such a routine-bound and change-hating person, and everything needs to be taken in baby-steps

BTW this has been bothering me for a while, but I'm trying to make Wesley and R.J. more distinguishable from each other, because up until now I've drawn them way too similarly, and while they do look a lot alike they're not supposed to practically be twins
So you might start noticing slight changes in the way these two are drawn (for example, I want to make Wesley's body slightly
broader than R.J.'s).
For this picture I changed R.J.'s height. In the past I drew them the exact same height, but in my head R.J's always been the more slender and smaller of the two (though obviously not by much).
I honestly don't know why I never drew them according to the heights I had in my head, but then again they're relatively new characters, so I can still get away with tweaking them here and there without anyone getting too wrapped around the axle

Anyway, I think I'm going to have something good to post soon.
I've been slowsly making progress on a YJ comic and a one-shot BluJay comic in between art projects
These next two weeks are going to be painful though.
