Description
Brightstar had been woken up late at night by someone shaking her.
Brightstar opened her eyes and saw her deputy Owlspots standing next to her and shaking her.

"Brightstar you have to come quick. There is something wrong with Kinkwhisker" Owlspots explained and her eyes were wide and she looked confused.

Brightstar stood up and ran out of her den and to the medicine cat den.
Tigerfeather was standing by a black form with his head hanging low.
Brightstar felt her heart tighten and she knew what was coming.

"He was asleep. And he didn't wake up. There was nothing I could do. I am sorry" Tigerfeather sad and he didn't lift his head.

Brightstar stood close to her medicine cat.
It had only been one moon since Tigerfeather changed his role and he was still really young.

"We should say our goodbyes" Brightstar said quietly.

Tigerfeather stepped back but Brightstar knew he would be the last to say good bye to his mentor.
He would also have to get Kinkwhisker ready for his burial.

Tears spilled from her eyes and she lent over to the dead cat.
Kinkwhisker was her friend and gave her advice when she needed it the most.
There was always one thing after another.

"Goodbye Kinkwhisker. We will miss you" Brightstar said sadly.

She put her nose in his fur for a bit before moving away.
She walked to the enterance of the medicine cat den but stopped before she left.

"I can help you bury him after we keep a vigil" Brightstar said but Tigerfeather only nodded.

When she left Owlspots walked over to her.
Brightstar always guessed that Kinkwhisker would be alive when Owlspots would have over her role as leader of the clan.

"He is dead isn't he?" Owlspots asked.

"Yes. We will keep a vigil" Brightstar said quietly before crying.

The night was cold as she sat with Tigerfeather.
They sat in silence and the stars twinkled down at them.
Beetlepaw one of the apprentices joined Brightstar and Tigerfeather and they all sat in silence.
She didn't how well Beetlepaw knew their medicine cat but she saw that he was crying and knew he missed Kinkwhisker as well.
Brightstar looked at the sky and tried to see if there was a new one that was Kinkwhisker but it all looked the same.
That night Starclan had a fine cat join their ranks.

Brightstar is really upset because Kinkwhisker was there when she needed advice.
