pokemon why are you so good to me. video games why do you keep providing the exact types of characters that i like. i feel blessedpiers from pokemon swsh, the franchise's first dark type gym leader, and also my favourite character from the game!!! hes so good im dying... i love this guy??

A lot of the new characters have the misfortune of having names that mean random things in Polish.
We have Marnie which literally means "poorly", we have Bede whish translates to "I will be" (technically it's written "będę", but still amusing), and then there's Melony which just means "melons".

honestly the more i think about it the more i'd be willing to say i agree
imo swsh has probably one of the most memorable casts of any pokemon game, i actually like all of the gym leaders and for piers being the first dark gym leader they hit it out of the park with him tbh so yeah! i agree

Ikr it's funny. And a shame because most of them didn't get any character developement! BUt in terms of design and concept they are definitely the best characters, which is saying a lot because I loved Alola's characters and story.
