I really like blender's dynamic hair for still images as there's no messing about styling and combing - just let the physics engine do the work. However finding a set of parameters that work in animations is a nightmare. The developers are reworking hair - which gives me a bad feeling given how many iterations were involved in getting to where we are today. There's a bit of flicker because I have not got my head around blender's undocumented temporal denoising feature.
Unfortunately the EEVEE renderer no longer works on my ancient laptop - 20 minutes per frame at this low resolution is not good enough.
